Shedding light on mental health for men in Canada through stories, action, and connection

Men's Mental Health Month in Canada

This is year four. The voices are growing. The message is simple. Speak before it gets heavy.

Every June, men across Canada step forward. This is where silence breaks. One voice at a time. One post. One message that says, “I’m here and I’m speaking.”

Speak Up This June
The silence is real. So is the need to speak.

Why Men’s Mental Health Month Matters

The numbers are real. But what matters most are the conversations that still aren’t happening.

Men’s mental health is often ignored or pushed aside. Many men carry it quietly until it becomes too much. This month is about changing that pattern.

It’s about making space for honest conversations. It’s about helping more men feel seen before they reach a breaking point.

What MenTELL Is Doing This June

This June 2026, for Men’s Mental Health Month and PTSD Awareness Month, MenTELL is launching the Speak Up campaign and #BeTheFlare movement to help men feel seen, supported, and less alone.

Through short videos, honest messages, shared resources, and community storytelling, MenTELL is asking people to speak up, pass the flare forward, and remind the men in their lives that silence is not strength. Connection is.

Speak Up this June 2026
We speak all year. June is just louder.

This Isn’t Just About June

We talk about this all year. June is a chance to reach the men who are still watching quietly.

Men’s mental health matters every day. But June helps us gather more voices and momentum.

We are not spokespeople. We are everyday men, coworkers, fathers, sons, friends. We encourage men to speak in real life, too. Talk to your neighbour. Check in on your friend. Reach out to someone who has been quiet.

If that’s too far today, speak here. Speak in your own way. Someone is listening.

This June 9-16 is recognized by the Canadian Mental Health Association as Canada’s Men’s Mental Health Awareness Week and we are thrilled to be collaborating on spreading the importance of unmasking your mental health this men’s mental health week in 2026.

How to Get Involved

You don’t need a big story. You just need to say something honest.
Here’s how to participate in Men’s Mental Health Month 2026:

Speak your Truth

Say something honest about your mental health. It can be small. It can be quiet. It just has to be real.

Make it Visible

Put your message out into the world. That could be a short video, a quote, a sentence. What matters is that someone else might see it and feel less alone.

Be the Signal

Invite/Collab/Tag us on social media. Share it. Let others know that it’s okay to speak. One honest voice can open the door for someone else. Speak up in person and encourage others to do the same.

The numbers say men are hurting. The stories say we’re not alone.

Why Speaking Up Matters

Men are still struggling in silence. Your voice might help someone take the first step.

- 75 percent of suicides in Canada are men
- Men aged 40 to 59 have the highest suicide rates
- Only 30 percent of men seek help
- Over 40 percent feel pressure to stay quiet

These aren’t just statistics. They’re real people, our friends, brothers, coworkers. Speaking up makes space for others to do the same.

Who We Are

We are not therapists. We are not an organization. We are everyday men who understand what it feels like to carry too much.

MenTELL is a grassroots platform for men’s mental health in Canada. We are not here to fix anyone. We are here to speak honestly and make it easier for others to speak too.

Be the Signal

Your post might be the reason someone else realizes they are not alone.

Some men are not ready to ask for help. Some don’t even realize they need it. That’s why we post. That’s why we speak.

Every post is a signal. Every message is a flare. One story might help another man find the words he needs.

If You Need Help Now

There is support. There are people who will listen. You do not have to do this by yourself.

MenTELL is not a crisis service. If you need support right now, call or text 9-8-8 that is available 24/7 across Canada.
