How to participate in Men’s Mental Health Week 2026
Join #BeTheFlare
#BeTheFlare is MenTELL’s national, peer-to-peer video campaign for Men’s Mental Health Month and Week. The mechanic is simple: film one short video on your phone, share one thing you wish you had told your younger self, say the names of two brothers out loud on camera, tag those brothers in the caption, and give them 48 hours to keep the flare alive. Tag @mentell.ca and invite us as an Instagram Collaborator so your video populates the MenTELL feed.
For workplaces and teams
Lunch-and-learn sessions, walking meetings during Men’s Mental Health Week, EAP awareness pushes, and “leader-goes-first” video posts are the four most effective workplace activations. The Canadian Mental Health Association’s Workplace Strategies for Mental Health resource (run by Canada Life) provides free Canadian-specific materials.
For partners, mothers, sisters, and friends

Frequently asked questions
When is Men’s Mental Health Week 2026 in Canada?

How is Men’s Mental Health Week different from Men’s Mental Health Month?
Men’s Mental Health Month is the full month of June (June 1 to 30, 2026). Men’s Mental Health Week is the seven days inside the month, June 9 to 15, 2026, that act as the peak of the awareness period.

Manitoba has legislated Men’s Mental Health Awareness Week through Bill 217 (The Men’s Mental Health Awareness Week Act), which defines the week as “the week before the third Sunday in June (Father’s Day)”. The week is widely observed nationally by Canadian mental health organisations including the Canadian Mental Health Association and the Canadian Men’s Health Foundation, even where not formally legislated by each province.
What can I do during Men’s Mental Health Week if I cannot attend an event?
Join #BeTheFlare from anywhere by posting one short video on Instagram and tagging @mentell.ca. Read MenTELL’s guides. Save 9-8-8 in your phone. Check in on two men you are worried about. The week is built for participation from a phone, not just from a stage.
